Design, Auditing & Certification

The design and development of a new or upgrade of an existing playspace must provide all users with balanced and challenging environments which stimulate learning and risk taking skills that are deemed reasonable, controlled or managed and appropriately identified. Consideration to the design and location is also paramount to ensure accessibility whilst optimising the learning opportunities and participation for inclusive play.

Here at NTSPS we can assist in the design, construction and maintenance of your playspace whilst adhering to the Australian Standards.

Through our affiliation with reputable playground manufacturers and suppliers our services include providing design proposals in 2-D and/or 3-D format to allow you the opportunity to view the area before construction. We will also guide you through the consolation phase, keep you engaged during construction and our after sales service is second to none.

We ensure that every piece of play equipment is certified before installation and upon completion of every project equipment and workmanship certifications and warranties are provided as part of our responsibility to comply with the Australian Standards.

We also offer the following services in relation to playground auditing and impact surface attenuation testing:

Comprehensive post-installation inspection is required to be carried out by a competent person prior to opening
  of the playground. This inspection verifies (with the requirements to the relevant parts of AS 4685 series) that the
  playground is conforming and if necessary identify remedies and any risk assessments to achieve conformance.
Comprehensive annual inspections to be carried out to determine conformance and establish the overall level
  of safety of the equipment, foundations and surfaces.
Operational inspections are required to be carried out on a regular monthly or quarterly basis.
Ongoing routine inspections should take into account in relation to inspection frequency local environment,
  frequency of use and manufacturer’s instructions any potentially harmful situations should be reported and
  rectified immediately.
Surface testing as a minimum is required to be tested every three years in accordance with AS 4422.
  Loose fill surfaces may not require regular testing as long as it conforms to requirements of AS/NZS 4422.
